Finally understand RGB and CMYK!

Finally understand RGB and CMYK!

01. What is RGB?

RGB is based on a black medium, and various colors are obtained by superimposing the brightness of different proportions of the three primary colors (red, green, and blue) of the natural light source. Each pixel of it can load 2 to the 8th power (256) brightness levels on each color, so that the three color channels can be combined to produce 256 to the 3rd power (more than 16.7 million) colors. In theory, any color that exists in nature can be restored.

In simple words, as long as the output is an electronic screen, then the RGB mode needs to be used. It can adapt to the needs of various outputs, and can restore the color information of the image more completely.

02. What is CMYK?

CMY is based on a white medium. By printing inks of different proportions of the three primary colors (cyan, magenta, and yellow), it absorbs the corresponding wavelengths in the original color light, so as to obtain various color reflection effects.

CMYK

                                CMYK

Isn't it very strange, what is the difference between CMY and CMYK, in fact, because in theory, CMY can call out K (black), but people find that K (black) is used a lot in practice, if you often need to use it To call out K (black) from CMY, one will waste ink, and the other will be inaccurate, especially for small characters, even now it cannot be completely registered. The third is to use 3 kinds of ink for printing, which is not easy to dry, so people have introduced K (black).

CMYK is the printing four-color mode, which is a color registration mode used in color printing. Using the principle of three-primary color mixing of colorants, plus black ink, a total of four colors are mixed and superimposed to form the so-called "full-color printing". Four standard The colors are:

C: Cyan

M: Magenta

Y: Yellow

K: blacK

Why is black a K, not a B? That's because B in the overall color has been assigned to the blue (Blue) in the RGB color mode.

Therefore, we must pay attention to the use of CMYK mode when making files to ensure that the colors can be printed smoothly.

Please note that assuming you are making a file in RGB mode, the selected color is prompted to warn Peugeot, which means that this color cannot be printed.
